the unsuited deliver original and contemporary music, with an unmistakeable nod to the past. One of the UK's finest indie R&R bands bringing together unforgettable melodies, soaring guitar, subtle keys, & driving drum and bass dynamics.

music and lyrics to uplift the soul, and celebrate all that it means to be human

Iain Stew Brownlie - lead vocals and rhythm guitar.

having fronted Indie band the inflatable sharks (springboard media) back in the 90's, and more recently Sinestar (Conzoom records), Iains journey with the unsuited takes him back to the genre of his roots & first love where his vocals and song craft are very much back home. Iain is really excited to unleash almost two years of song writing, and 30 years of unfinished business into the world.

Iain has a knack for creating infectious lyrics & melodies which once heard have a habit of sticking.  His style draws influence from a very diverse range of genres, resulting in a sound which crosses genres and consolidates the group sound.

H(oward) Moth - lead & rhythm guitar, backing vocals

The architect of the unsuited’s guitar sound creates the bed rock of the band by merging blazing riffs and melodic indie rock hooks into a fascinating new shape.

H’s diverse musical journey spans punk, indie, rock and synth pop genres that have seen him write for and front bands Spacebuoy and Pulse.  Along the way H has played lead guitarist, bassist, vocalist and front man roles, sharing stages with the likes of Carter USM and Erasure and learning what it takes to truly ignite an audience.

A lifetime of guitars relentless song writing, and performing has led H to this place. the unsuited showcases everything that H has learned along the way and is the project he has spent his life working towards.

the unsuited presents H as he was meant to be, and raw, guitar driven indie has never felt so good.

Tim Dorney - Keyboards, BV's, has been a prominent figure in the music scene for years, initially assisting Andrew Weatherall with early remixes before becoming the keyboard player for Flowered Up in 1990. Following the band's breakup in 1993, after their iconic 13-minute Top 20 single "Weekender," Tim went on to what would later become Republica . Global fame soon followed, with their debut album selling over 2 million copies. Their timeless hit "Ready To Go" has been featured in ads, films, and sports events.

Tims latest collabs have seen him working with Pete Steer (Tenek/Agency V) and Mark Trueman (Sinestar) creating & performing with Tin Gun. Tims production/mixing & mastering expertise is in high demand with credits from EmT, Tiny Magnetic Pets, Psykelectrik, Agency V, and Let Loose.

Tim was asked if he would weave his production magic on the unsuited's new material. Once Tim got involved he loved the music so much that he offered to join the band!

Stu Englefield- drums & BV's

Stu provided the powerhouse rhythms for The Inflatable Sharks back in the day, and has been applying that same energy in the last few years with Somerset based Singer-songwriter, Alex Lipinski & The Crown Electric. the unsuited provides the perfect opportunity to reunite with former Inflatable Sharks bandmate Iain Brownlie and put a creative stamp on the ear-worm melodies created by the band.

Jo Line- bass & BV's

Jo is a multi‑instrumentalist with a seriously eclectic musical past. A groove‑driven, melodic bass player, she can also turn her hand to sax, keyboards and more.

A long‑standing face on the South West music circuit, Jo has spent years lighting up stages.  On bass, she’s been a go‑to player for many outfits including Doctor Chocolate, soul crew Jusould, disco favourites Jeliphish and funk‑rockers Last Orders.

Jo first crossed paths with Iain and Stu in the quirky Bristol band Vehicle. When Iain reached out and asked her to bring her rock‑solid, inventive bass lines to the unsuited, Jo jumped at the chance to help shape something original.
